It's a Jungle Out There!!

Literally!!!

The trees are massive no matter what species...bamboo

Some kind of eucalyptus...

This was another kind of eucalyptus

it looked like some one painted it with different colours..

We did the road to Hana yesterday where there were 615 curves and 50 one lane bridges...

This is where you could end up if you were not careful...

We hiked down a trail to see the huge waves

And put our toes in the water. Joy and I thought we put our sandals up high and dry but with our backs to the water and the guys just watching...

A huge wave hit the shore and soaked Joy and I and stole our sandals!!!!

We figured we were now shoeless for the day but we waited and before long our sandals washed up to shore.  Joy had some 'dog' sandals...I told her they always come back to their owner!!

This seems to be a recurring problem as through out the day we found 'lost' sandals

I said maybe we should start collecting in case we lose ours again!

There were blow holes at the lookouts...

Bays filled with volcanic gravels ...

Beautiful little gift shops..

Roadside smoothie trucks with delicious mango smoothies...almost anything can be a 'shop'

Unlike NYC....the Restuarants just have a posted sign that says it passed....but by how much??

Was it an A or was it a D???? That could make a big difference!! This is like the new marking systems in school.....you never know just how well your doing!!

Tried ice cream with no dairy...just coconut water.

Glen makes a mighty fine toffee-coffee ice cream...tasted like a coffee crisp chocolate bar!!

Lunch was at the Hana Ranch Restuarant where they raise their own beef...

Bought a pineapple at this little organic fruit stand....

Stopped at this Barn-church...

built in 1892...

Gary and Arnold look like they are mourning but I think it was because they had to get back in the car and it was my turn to drive those windy roads!!

This little rooster was keeping grounds in the cemetery....

Today Arnold is going to watch the Hyundia PGA golf tournament

The rest of us are going to find some beach .....some where.....
